Product Description
Petrokem Plastic Asphalt is a multi-purpose trowel grade heavily filled bituminous compound specially manufactured for expansion joints in concrete construction work. The product can also be used for water proofing, stopping, bonding and sealing purposes. Petrokem Plastic Asphalt can be used over concrete, cement plaster, asphalt, roofing felt, corrugated iron, cast iron, asbestos cement, slate, metal, wood and over similar surfaces. Dries to a tough flexible black coating.
Product Application
- Filling expansion joints – Force the compound in to the expansion joint by using steel trowel or putty knife. The depth of one single application should not exceed 25 mm. If the depth is more than 25 mm the first application should be dried for atleast 8 hours before the second application.
- Water proofing of concrete slabs or cement plaster – Prime with Petrokem PF4 Black. Allow to dry for atleast 2 hours. Then apply Petrokem Plastic Asphalt by using a trowel at a thickness of 3 mm. Carry the application up adjacent walls or parapets to a height of 15 cm.
Product Coverage
- Approximately 1 sqm per Kg at 1 mm thickness.
