Product Description
Petrokem 2K Liquid Plastic® – Black is a two component, tough, long lasting waterproofing system specially developed for floors, walls, flower troughs, earth filled roof gardens, bathrooms and for many more areas. The product is also designed and recommended to use against rising dampness in floors. It therefore has many waterproofing applications in households, civil engineering sites and industries. Petrokem 2K Liquid Plastic® is a heavy duty waterproofing system and when properly applied, it will provide a mechanically tough, durable, abrasive resistant coating which will be resistant to a range of chemicals, oils, acids and alkalis. The system will also have an excellent adhesion to most surfaces including concrete, cement plaster, wood, terrazzo, plywood and therefore could be used to waterproof wide variety of surfaces including plywood, cement plaster, concrete and wood. This waterproofing system is not recommended for outdoor applications when the area is directly exposed to sunlight and high thermal movements. Not recommended for drinking water tanks.
Product Application
- Petrokem 2K Liquid Plastic® – Black is a two components coating. Mix thoroughly equal volumes of resin and hardener.(If not mixed properly the coating will not perform well or will not harden at all). Mixing can be carried out by using a spatula or similar tool. Apply the mixed material to the surface within 30 minutes.
- 1st coat – Apply a coat of Petrokem 2K Liquid Plastic® Black over the surface and allow to dry at-least for 8 hours.
- 2nd coat – Apply 2nd coat of Petrokem 2K Liquid Plastic® Black over the 1st coat and blind the surface with clean, dry sand. ( sand blinding should be carried out before the 2nd coat is dried ) Brush off the excess sand after 24 hours and apply the protective cement plaster over the surface. This plaster is essential when the product is used against rising dampness to balance off the pressure of the rising water from the bottom. Any decorative floor finish could be applied over the plastered surface.
Product Coverage
- 40 – 50 sqft per litre pack on a non absorbent smooth surface.
- 25 – 30 sqft per litre pack on a rough concrete surface.
